1st Annual Asian Podcast Festival To Be Held Virtually In May

(NEW YORK–) The first-ever podcast festival featuring Asian American Pacific Islanders will be held later this month, officials said. It is produced by AAP (the Asian American Podcasters Association).

            All show episodes will be recorded with a LIVE audience on Sunday, May 30th, AAP co-founder Andrew Wang confirmed. “We’re happy to highlight our members and their shows, and we’re looking forward to showcasing the work of Asian American Pacific Islander podcasters from across the globe.” The festival will be held virtually via Zoom.

Shows and hosts include: Stories with Sapphire with Sapphire Sandalo; #hashtagimpact with Regina Larko and Carol Li; Future Hindsight with Mila Atmos; The Power of the Only with Angela Chee; The Filipino American Woman Project with Jen Amos and Nani Dominguez; Podcast Gym with Andy WangHouse of Lee NYC with Lee Uehara; and Retire There with Gil & Gene with Gilen and Gene Chan.

“We wanted to celebrate AAPI Heritage month with a special offering,” co-founder Lee Uehara said. “And what better way to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month than to do this — especially since some of the shows were either nominated or won a GOLDEN CRANE Podcast Award.”
