Another freelance producer job opening at CBS News in NYC!

CBS News is hiring an experienced *NYC-based* freelance producer to work from our Broadcast Center in Hell’s Kitchen on a M-F (10-6) basis to help us assemble and polish cuts for a new narrative podcast series debuting in January.
We are looking for someone who could start as soon as next week (!).
The producer/tech editor will work collaboratively with a television producer to assemble cuts and fine-tune scripting, music, pacing in the DAW of their choice.
They will also assist in booking guests, recording interviews, conducting story research and development among an assortment of other standard production tasks.
Some episodes will be doc-style while others will be more like two-ways with archival and scoring. Pieces will be about 30-45 mins long.
We are looking for folks who have a strong technical baseline and producer chops, but would also be excited to help shape the sound of the show show and really leave a mark.
Ideal candidates will have experience in producing new podcasts, will be technically savvy in their preferred editing software, and will be excited to work with a small and collaborative team from our Hell’s Kitchen office.
Our production team is a talented bunch, but the producers mostly have TV experience. If you’ve helped develop a podcast with non-audio people before, that’s a real plus!
If interested, please send  me an email *SEPARATE* from this posting with your resume, a couple clips of some work you’re proud of (as well as a description of what you specifically did for each of those pieces), and a note with a little bit about yourself to this address –> ktmc357@gmail.com.
Since we are looking for someone to start as soon as next week — please submit your job application by 9pm TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 2nd— if interested.
Weekly/daily compensation is commensurate with experience. All rates will be at AIR standard or higher and will reflect the technical and editorial skill set that this position requires. Mid-junior and upper-level freelancers are encouraged to apply.
Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
CBS is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
